IN THIS LESSON
Every nonprofit grows from an idea or response to an urgent concern in a community. Circles of Jackson County has evolved throughout its many years serving residents of Jackson County, but how did our organization start? Let’s dive in.
HISTORY
Circles of Jackson County is a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Jackson County, North Carolina. Founded in 2016 under the name “Circles of Hope” by Ann Melton, Circles operates to serve the locals of Jackson County.
Some members in our staff and board have stayed with Circles for almost a decade. We hope to maintain our history of including residents of Jackson County in our day-to-day operations through volunteering and leadership in the organization.
MISSION
The mission of Circles of Jackson County is to provide the short- and long- term support that will enable individuals and families to move into self-sustainability.
GOALS
Our goals are simple:
Building social capital so all Circle Leaders can achieve individual goals
Connecting Jackson County residents in poverty to resources in the area
Educating the community about poverty and reducing barriers toward self-sustainability
