July’s Digital Navigation Class

Throughout July, Richard and John of the Fontanta Library System came to our weekly meetings to teach Circles members about digital navigation. Circles members were able to sign up for the course, and receive a free Chromebook and various accessories (charge cord, mouse, laptop sleeve).

During the first meeting, Richard passed out the Chromebooks and helped our members log into them. Richard and John went into more detail about the basics of Chromebooks during our second class. They covered how to navigate a Chromebook’s apps and settings. The third meeting covered email functions, Gmail tips and tricks, and how to recognize spam. At the fourth session, Richard and John focused on cybersecurity: how to identify secure sites, writing strong passwords, and recognizing online fraud and scams.

Many thanks to Fontana Library System’s digital navigating experts Richard and John for teaching this course!
