Intern Introduction: Judith Cruz
Hi! My name is Judith Cruz, and I am the spring 2026 business intern. I am a finance and Spanish double major at WCU with a concentration in financial planning. I currently work on campus as a financial wellness coach, helping students create budgets and focus on their financial well-being. I am also the financial officer for the first-gen club and part of the merchandise staff in the Pride of the Mountains marching band. In my downtime, I enjoy painting, exploring the outdoors, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.
I was born and raised in Clinton, a small rural town in southeast North Carolina. Growing up in a rural town as the daughter of immigrants, I learned that opportunity is not only about what exists but about who can access it. Barriers such as language and isolation often prevent people from obtaining the information and resources they need to thrive. My background has made me passionate about helping others, which is why I love Circles’ community-based approach to help individuals become self-sufficient and thrive. I began volunteering at Circles in the fall of 2025 and attended weekly meetings. I am so grateful for the opportunity to intern and am excited to learn!
