How to Change a Tire
At some point in your life, if you drive a car, you are going to have a tire problem. Your tire might be flat, worn out or just old. It is important to know how to change your tire when this happens. Knowing how to change your own tires can also save you the expense of someone else putting them on. So here is how you change your tire in a few steps.
First, you need to make sure you are in a safe, stable place where you can change your tire. Make sure your parking brake and hazards are on. If you are on any kind of hill, use heavy objects or wheel chocks and place them behind your tires.
You need to make sure that you have all the necessary tools. You will need your spare tire, car jack, lug wrench, and wheel wedges or chocks.
Next, before you lift the car, loosen the lug nots on the tire with your lug wrench. Do not remove them completely yet.
Place the jack at the manufacturer-recommended lift and raise the car until the tire is completely off the ground.
Next completely unscrew the lug nuts and take off the tire. Keep the lug nuts where thay will not get lost.
Install the spare tire by aligning it with the wheel studs and tighten the lug nuts with your hands.
Next, you are going to lower the vehicle until the tire is completely on the ground. Now, you can fully tighten the lug nuts.
Lastly, ensure tire is properly inflated and make a plan to replace the tire.
